1) Via a UK Pet Passport - where the animal arrives to Ireland from
the UK via a port it can come from the countries permitted on the UK
pet passport scheme.
2) If coming directly from outside the UK to Ireland the animal will
be quaratined for either 6mths at a quaratiine station or by private
quarantine by which the animal goes to a quarantine station for 1mth
then must be held in private quarantine for 5 mths. this is in a special
accomodation built on the premises and visited by a Vet Officer 3 times
weekly.
3) With the Foot and Mouth disease alert at present, no working dogs
or greyhounds are permitted entry from the UK.
